3 Tips For Relieving Anxiety

We often build up anxiety over time while trying to make it through our busy daily lives. Even little things that happen throughout the day can cause our bodies to store anxiety. These emotions we store can lead to constant panic and worry. This is not a good thing.
The key to living anxiety free is to allow your body to release the stress that is being stored up. Here are 3 things you can try that are proven to promote relaxation and get rid of anxiety.

1. Exercise

It amazes me that more professionals don’t suggest exercise as a form of anxiety relief. If there is one thing you do to help your anxiety, exercise for 20-30 minutes per day. You’ll be amazed by how much this can help.
This daily exercise doesn’t need to be strenuous and you don’t have to run out and buy a gym membership. Some light, aerobic workouts for 30 minutes are all you need to help relieve stress. Great exercises to try are light jogging, jumping rope, boxing, or cycling. Anything to increase your heart rate for 30 minutes will help. Exercise increases blood flow and gets more oxygen to your brain which definitely has an impact on your mood. Exercise also releases powerful endorphins which can relieve stress. Remember, we aren’t saying you need to become a body builder, just get your heart rate up everyday.
Along with physical exercise, be sure to exercise your mind too. A good, daily mind relaxation program can really help eliminate worry and anxiety. Find a place to sit and meditate every day. Focus on forgetting about the daily stresses in your life.

2. Deep Breathing

Once again, you need to get oxygen to your brain. This is key for eliminating anxiety. When we are anxious, we take shorter breaths and cut off oxygen to our bodies. Short breaths can cause us to panic and worry.
Try some deep breathing by breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. Find a relaxing spot and take about 20 deep breaths with your eyes closed. Really focus on a deep inhale and exhale motion. Think of it as a full circle breath and visualize the air coming in and going out.
For something even more effective, try a deep breathing audio session.

3. Drink Fluids

Dehydration is a big one. Most of us think of really serious symptoms when we think about dehydration. However, one of the first symptoms of mild dehydration is anxiety. Be sure to get enough water and tea throughout the day. Also, cut out sugary drinks, caffeine, and only drink alcohol in moderation.
Follow these 3 steps and you’ll definitely see a reduction in the amount of anxiety you have. To take it a step further, try an anxiety relieving audio session.
